Abby Koch is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa and her Masters Degree in Social Work from Loyola University in Chicago.
Abby’s passion for Social Work began at a very young age. As far back as Abby can remember, she has been drawn to opportunities where she could improve the lives of others. Her first Social Work experience was assisting elderly patients in nursing homes. Abby’s experience working with elderly patients had a profound impact on her life.
Abby began her career as a Social Worker in 1999 with adults who struggled with psychiatric illness. After Abby received her Masters Degree, she worked with children and adolescents who struggled with psychiatric illness, behavior problems and developmental delays. Also, Abby has a wealth of experience in family therapy.
Recently, Abby moved back to Illinois after living in India for two years. In India, Abby was working for an agency as a volunteer Social Worker, helping children who lived in poverty to receive the emotional and physical care that they required.
Entering therapy may not be easy; Abby believes that allowing for assistance can be the initial step towards change. Abby will work with you on strategies to manage your concerns. Her goal is to encourage, inform, and challenge you in a safe and non-judgmental setting.
