Ashley is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Illinois. She earned her Master’s in Applied Family and Child Studies with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

Ashley has experience with adolescents, couples, and families. She has provided counseling in community and school settings as well as in crisis and legal situations. Issues that Ashley feels comfortable working with include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm or suicidal ideation, relationship/family conflict, life transitions, parenting issues, and working with the LGBTQ community. Her approach includes cognitive-behavioral, family systems, and person-centered techniques but treatment is tailored to each individual’s specific needs.

Ashley is warm and energetic and her strengths as a therapist include creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment, using humor, and building strong rapport so that each client feels comfortable and validated. She believes in the importance of healthy relationships and strives to empower others so that they may gain the self-awareness and the self-acceptance needed to reach their personal goals.
