Christal Mihalo has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois since 1998. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in at Judson University in 1993 and her Master’s Degree in Counseling from National-Louis University in 1995.
Christal has 22 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults within various settings such as child welfare agencies, private practice and in the criminal justice field. Some of her specific areas of expertise include adolescent issues, families involved in the juvenile probation system, learning disabilities, PTSD, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relationship problems, life transitions and stress management.
Christal tailors her approach based upon her client’s needs. She draws from a variety of strength-based therapeutic approaches and techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution-Focused Therapy. Christal’s genuine, empathic, use of humor, and direct approach creates an atmosphere of hope, support and encouragement.
