Jennifer Forbes serves as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Illinois. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with her Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Applied Family and Child Studies.
Jennifer has dedicated the last 6 years working in Community mental health. She has worked closely with at-risk youth and families in Chicago’s inner city. She is also a former Clinical Director, where she advocated for children, adolescents, and adults who battled with mental health and substance use.
Jennifer provides support for couples, families, and individuals that feel “stuck.” She believes it takes great courage for someone to admit that they need help, and works to empower them to take charge of their spiritual, physical, and mental health. Jennifer has specific experience in Christian counseling as well, but feels comfortable working with people of varied faith backgrounds.
Jennifer will work with you and your support system(s) in addressing the following areas: adjustment difficulties, anxiety, child sexual abuse, court involvement, crisis, depression, domestic violence, divorce counseling, emotional/behavioral concerns at home/school, identity, infidelity, LGBTQ, marital/family/peer conflicts, parenting, premarital counseling, school failure, self-esteem, spirituality, suicidal thoughts/plans, trauma, and assessment and diagnostic impressions for mental health and substance abuse disorders. Jennifer looks forward to working alongside each of her clients to help them accomplish their goals.
