Presenter: Deborah Brozewski, M.S.Ed, CADC, LCPC.

Deborah Brozewski, M.S.Ed, CADC, LCPC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor and certified alcohol and other drug counselor in the state of Illinois. Deb has 16 years of experience providing direct services to adolescents and adults in a variety of treatment settings. In addition to providing direct services, Deb has served in administrative and faculty positions providing education and supervision to new counselors.

Play and Expressive Art Therapies in the Office

By attending this event you will be able to:

  • The ability to summarize expressive arts and play therapy techniques that you will actively be able to begin implementing with clients.
  • Participants will observe demonstrations and instructions of several expressive arts and play therapy techniques. 
  • Participants will also develop the ability to create a treatment plan for clients based on play and expressive arts therapy.

Presenters: Daniel LaLuna, PsyD,  Holly Mauer, LPC, Lauren Roseberry, LCPC

Come join Dr. Daniel Laluna and clinical therapists Holly Mauer and Lauren Roseberry, as they share their combined years of experience in implementing play and expressive arts therapies with children and adolescents. Dr. Laluna is a licensed clinical psychologist who focused his dissertation on the use of expressive arts in therapy. Dr. Laluna conducts expressive arts therapy groups and also utilizes these techniques with children ages 4 and up in individual therapy.  Ms. Mauer specializes in the use of play and expressive therapies with children with developmental disabilities, but also utilizes these strategies with a wide array of diagnoses. Ms. Roseberry is also well versed in play therapy techniques across a wide array of diagnoses. She has experience implementing these techniques with anxiety, depression, trauma and behavioral issues.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: Practicing Psychological Flexibility in Individual Sessions

 By attending this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the consequences inherent in experiential avoidance.
  • Utilize the psychological flexibility model to target treatment goals.
  • Lead a clinical mindfulness exercise with individual clients.
  • Identify psychological inflexibility in clients.
  • Conduct a values exercise with clients.

Presenter: Jancey Wickstrom, AM, LCSW

Jancey Wickstrom, AM, LCSW is the Site Director at The Renfrew Center of Chicago. She has worked in residential, outpatient and inpatient treatment settings. Ms. Wickstrom is intensively trained in contextual therapeutic approaches like Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and the Unified Protocol. Ms. Wickstrom’s vast knowledge of third-wave CBT therapies, engaging personality, compelling case examples, and hands-on approach will provide attendees with a strong foundation in ACT and the ability to begin applying it.
