Dr. Daniel Laluna, originally from the Chicago area, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Edgewood Clinical Services. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. He obtained his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a concentration in child and adolescent mental health.
Dr. Laluna has obtained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families presenting with issues such as anxiety, self-esteem, bullying, school refusal, depression, parental divorce, impulsivity, behavior struggles, and grief/loss. He has experience providing individual and group therapy to individuals and families from various cultural and diverse backgrounds. He specializes in expressive arts processing groups, which help children and adolescents explore their identity and express their emotions through various modes of expressive arts (e.g. poetry, music, art, and drama).
Dr. Laluna’s testing experience includes providing comprehensive psychological evaluations (e.g. cognitive, achievement, neuropsychological, and social-emotional functioning) to children and adolescents who are looking to identify and obtain a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, as well as how to optimize their functioning in the home, school, and community settings.
Dr. Laluna provides psychotherapy in a manner that best suits each client’s unique needs. He emphasizes attachment and relationships as part his work, as well as utilizing the therapeutic relationship as a key element to the progress and well-being of his clients. He also specializes in integrating play therapy and insight-oriented therapy as part of his therapeutic approach.
