Erica is Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Illinois. She earned her Master’s in Applied Family and Child Studies with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from DePaul University in Chicago, IL.
Erica has experience working with children, adolescents/teens, individuals, couples, and families. She has provided counseling in community, private practice, and residential settings as well as in crisis situations. Issues Erica is experienced in include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harm or suicidal ideation, life transitions, relationship/family conflict, and parenting issues. Her approach includes cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, dialectal-behavioral, and family systems techniques. The therapeutic technique that is applied in therapy is chosen based upon the client’s specific needs.
Erica likes to provide a warm and welcoming environment for her clients where they feel safe to open up in a non-judgmental space. She believes in empowering her clients to be an active part of the therapeutic process and working with them to help achieve their goals and create a life balance.
