Jodi is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Illinois. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Park University in Chicago and her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in the School of Psychology in Pasadena, CA.
Jodi has experience working with a variety of populations and issues. She has worked in private practice, university, and community mental health settings. Jodi has also worked extensively with children on the autism spectrum and their families. Jodi has experience with mood and anxiety disorders, depression, behavior issues, divorce, blended families, parenting, pregnancy loss and infertility, child and spousal abuse, communication, emotional difficulty, women’s issues, adjustment disorders, homelessness and financial issues, coping skills, and mother/daughter relationships.
Jodi emphasizes a safe and constructive environment in which clients can feel heard and empowered to partner with her to develop a plan for change. Jodi understands how overwhelming and scary it can be to take the first steps to seek help, and wants to come alongside her clients to help them achieve their goals and make positive changes in their lives and relationships. Jodi is a systems-trained therapist, and has extensive experience working with couples, families, and relational issues. She utilizes Restoration Therapy, strengths-based focus, art therapy, play therapy, coping skills, and mindfulness to help her clients work through their issues. Jodi is also a Christian counselor and can offer pre-marital counseling.
