Katie is a clinical intern receiving her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. She has previous experience in a clinical residential setting as a behavioral health specialist. She has experience working with adolescents and adults that are struggling with a wide range of issues including, but not limited to, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, behavior modification, self-esteem, bullying, self-injury, suicidal ideation, and trauma. Katie’s approach is to integrate techniques that best meet the needs of the client. She believes that success in therapy begins by developing a strong rapport within the collaborative therapeutic relationship. She strives to guide clients to better understand their challenges, highlight their strengths through empowerment, and lead them to solutions that will help them reach a more fulfilling life. She creates a warm and welcoming environment where clients can feel comfortable, heard, and validated through displaying empathy and unconditional positive regard.
