Kristin is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. She earned her Bachelors in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and her Master’s in Counseling from St. Xavier University.
Kristin has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families through a variety of services. Kristin has worked in community mental health, office, home-based and medication assisted treatment. Kristin has worked with children, adolescents and families involved with DCFS to monitor safety and promote development and achievement. Kristin has experience working with adults in the community and office with anxiety, depression, bi-polar, anger management, self-esteem, communication and drug and alcohol addictions.
Kristin values creating a warm and non-judgmental environment to allow clients to feel safe and open to grow and heal through their counseling journey. Kristin uses an eclectic approach to best fit the needs of each client. Kristin also likes to use a holistic approach as she believes in focusing on the relationship between the mind and body to allow her clients to understand and see themselves as a whole person and not just their diagnosis. Kristin utilizes techniques from CBT, Mindfulness, DBT, solution focused, motivational interviewing and client centered therapy.
