Write down a list of symptoms you have been having to help facilitate a conversation that is direct and informative during the appointment.
Prepare any important medical or mental health records to be shared with the doctor.
Create a list of your medications and reasons taken or plan to bring your medications in the prescription bottles to the appointment.
As a friend or family member to come to their appointment with you if you feel that they can provide a unique perspective and/or help you feel less anxious or more comfortable in the process.
Write down questions about the diagnosis and about any treatments or further assessments available. Our psychiatrists are very open to exploring alternative care and different treatment fields. Consider sleep studies, light therapy, chiropractic care, a nutritionist, psychological testing, or group therapy.
